It will then trigger the external audio and you simply record it on the audio track. Never the less, if you are able to send the midi data to Ableton USB then all your need to do to complete the process is send that midi data back out to the kronos. NOTE: I haven't been using the usb on the kronos because it was a waste of a port but this may change now. I have a second midi track set to receive and send out the data from the Kronos via a midi connection on my interface. I stereo DI the Kronos audio into my converter then arm an audio track ready for the Kronos. Its kind of confusing working externally but you have to set the midi channel to send that data to an external source. Hey, I missed that memo on turning off Local! If this actually does it, Thank You! I will test this out and get back to you on that. I assume i would have to arm another audio track and have the midi track going into that track but how would i get the audio from the kronos onto that track? sorry if this is a naive question but am a newbee. Standalone app features Inter-App Audio, Audiobus, and Ableton Link. If i have the keyboard on kronos being recognized with ableton and i can record midi data to a armed midi track on ableton how would i get the audio onto another track using the sound from the kronos? Right in your back pocket and recorded for IOS only An app for iPad, iPhone or. sadly i am not a midi guru and my head is spinning.Ĭouple questions since you are using the kronos. If in fact the usb midi/audio connection can't be done i guess not much i can do about it other than a work around.

So i am guessing you have tried this and it does not work. I have the editor vst plug-in installed and ableton recognizes it and once again it states that if you turn local off on the kronos you should be able to use the kronos as a vst and get the audio in via usb. so is what you are saying that it states that but in real life it just doesn't work? Once they add audio tracks though I think I’ll be using it more often than the OP-1.All the documentation and videos state that the usb a/b cord can go into computer directly and transmit midi and audio (2 channels of audio). Gadget works well with the nanoKEY Studio controller, but there are still a few on-screen controls that aren’t mapped and they can be frustrating to deal with on a small screen. GarageBand is clunky and cumbersome for me, I usually only use it to host AU synths like Phasemaker (Bram Bos is awesome, I loved making beats in the late 90’s with his Tuareg and Moonfish programs on Win98). Slick interface, easy sampling process, synths, fx, midi, IAA and Audiobus compatible…it’s a solid app for a very reasonable price!īeatmaker was almost decent but the Intua team was/is HORRIBLE at supporting their apps.
Audulus audio to ableton recording full#
I’m really hoping for NanoStudio 2 (Blip Interactive) to come out later this year, the first one is my favorite app for making full beats on iOS. It sure isn’t as instantly gratifying as the OP-1 but I’ve gotten pretty comfortable with it fairly quickly. Overall, if I wasn’t used to the OP-1 already (and didn’t love it like one of my children) then Gadget and the nanoKEY Studio would be my daily driver, especially if Korg allowed for audio tracks on iOS.Īlmost too many options in Gadget for me, I get overwhelmed haha. Perhaps that’s something they’ll resolve if they ever allow for audio tracks on the iOS version. In the case of Gadget I really wish they had a sampling interface that didn’t require a 3rd party app. Might just be me, but Korg has always been among the most frustrating of the “close, but not quite there” manufacturers…they tend to release products that are almost perfect but have one or two large oversights/afterthoughts. The major difference I noticed is that the OP-1 allows for a more flexible and immediate workflow, whereas the Gadget has fewer workaround options (at least without using 3rd party apps). Gadget with the nanoKEY Studio and the Line 6 SonicPort combine to form something very similar to the OP-1…not the same, but definitely similar in a few ways. I just got them both and for a few hours I actually never even thought about powering on the OP-1. Otherwise you'll end up with the recorded signal playing. Most input sources are mono so if you can only choose 1/2 you need to go to the Preferences > Audio > Input Config and activate the Mono Inputs first. I’m only a couple years late to the party, but Gadget and the nanoKEY Studio are awesome tools! In' under 'Audio From' as well as the Input that you've connected the cable to on your interface, e.g.
